Crowns are used to restore a tooth to its natural size, shape and color. Think of a crown as an enamel replacement for a tooth made from high strength ceramic. Crowns are a very common procedure and are indicated for teeth with extensive decay, cracks, fractures, and other structural compromises. A crown is designed to strengthen and protect what remains of the tooth and improve your smile.

CROWN AND BRIDGE

If your smile is in need of a makeover, crowns can provide predictable results. Crowns can give an unattractive tooth back its beautiful shape and color. For smaller or worn down teeth, a crown can restore the natural size of the old tooth.

CROWN AND BRIDGE

Crowns are used on teeth with decay too large for a filling, to cover a dental implant, to protect cracked teeth, restore worn teeth, and strengthen root canal treated and otherwise weakened teeth. Crowns and bridges can be made from stainless steel, all metal (such as gold or another alloy), porcelain-fused-to-metal, all resin, or all ceramic. At Sarasola Dental, we prefer metal-free all ceramic crowns because of their beauty and strength.

CROWN AND BRIDGE

A bridge is a non-removable dental procedure, used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge uses the neighboring teeth adjacent to the space vacated by the missing tooth/teeth as anchors. These anchor teeth, known as abutment crowns, support a high strength ceramic tooth (pontic) that replaces the previously missing natural tooth. Bridges are great at replacing missing teeth, restoring smiles, and improving chewing.
